Account Coordinator - Agronomy Focus

McCormick Company is seeking an ambitious, organized account coordinator for our Des Moines, Iowa office. Responsibilities include assisting the account supervisors with day-to-day client support and project tasks while striving to move into an account executive role. This position has daily interaction with the entire agency and client team with regular exposure to clients. The candidate must be able to work both independently and as a team under the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Expertise in and passion for crop production is required with experience in agricultural marketing and communications to a dealer/retailer/grower audience preferred. The account coordinator will have the opportunity to work with a global leader in crop yield enhancement so candidates with experience in agronomy and related fields will be considered first.


Client/project management

Coordinate and manage the activities necessary to accomplish assigned projects in a manner that meets the agency’s standards of quality, creativity and client satisfaction

  • Support account managers to meet client needs on a wide range of projects
  • Participate in ag-related tradeshow strategy/planning/execution
  • Handle regular client contact and keep team informed and updated — must have strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Track and monitor jobs through the creative and production phases
  • Document results of important client meetings and conversation along with key action items, distribute these reports to all stakeholders in a timely manner, and track progress on action items in a weekly report
  • Prioritize high volume of projects and revise plans when required

  • Display a positive attitude and work well with colleagues and clients in a fast-paced environment
  • Be willing to pitch in to meet special and/or urgent client or agency needs


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
  • Agricultural background with agronomic experience
  • One to three years professional experience in marketing communications
  • Hands-on experience with and interest in digital communications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively (internal and external)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
